The Fine Wine Society of King’s College London is home to the exploration of fine wine through mutual appreciation of this vast and intriguing subject. A place where students, professors and industry leaders can network to enhance their interest and knowledge of wines, the viticulture process, and the industry.
The Society was established in 2011 by King's College London law students Dominic Thomas-James and William Cooper. The Society exists to facilitate exclusive events for its members such as tutored tastings, guest speaker seminars and networking events - all in perhaps London's finest venue; Somerset House. With a network pool spanning everything from law, finance, politics, luxury goods to yacht-design, our members and guests come together with an appreciation and passion for wine. The Fine Wine Society is now in its sixth year of existence, and is succeeding in its mission to enhance the London wine scene and the university experience of students and alumni of King's College London, and guests from the City.
"This society is what is needed at King's... It allows students and academic staff to mingle in a social setting and learn about fine wines..."
DR DENNIS BAKER, School of Law
"As a Patron of The Fine Wine Society, I'd say that joining a University society such as this will allow you to meet new people and foster relationships which will last well beyond your university days..."
ALEXANDER ISAAC, Patron
"Our events are attended by guests ranging from University Professors to Investment Bankers, Film Producers to Super-Yacht Designers, thus providing great networking for our members..."
POPPY ALPORT, Publicity Officer 2011/2012
"By virtue of the relationships we have fostered and the kindness given to us from the wine world, we are able to introduce members to some seriously fine wines. Our tasting portfolio has consisted of the likes of Champagne Salon and La Mission Haut Brion.
